RECOGNISING AND EMBRACING GOD’S GRACE GIFTS
- God has never intended to hide His grace from humanity. Oftentimes, He places His grace in plain sight for all to see. After the fall in Eden, God reached out to different people at different times and extended His grace to them, of which you and I are recipients.
- We must understand that grace can be heard, seen, and touched (1 John 1:1-4, John 1:1-5, 14, 16).
- Whatever assignment or ministry God has called us into, as long as we have believed in His Son, Jesus Christ, every one of us is a recipient of this abundant grace which has continued to flow towards mankind since the beginning of creation and will continue to flow till the end of time (John 1:14, 16, AMPC).
- “God’s marvellous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone. This same grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles, and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age” (Titus 2:11-12, TPT).
- This grace is transferable—it is from this source of inexhaustible grace that we can become that which is heard, seen, and touched. As God’s word becomes flesh in us, we can become living epistles and the reality of the essence of what grace is and who He is.
- The only time we can truly make an impact is when we are “dead” men. The life that flows from our deadness is what impacts and transforms the lives of men. With this “death” that the cross brings to everyone, as we allow the Holy Spirit to apply the cross in our lives, we will begin to see a transformation inside us.
- The “death” that we die is supposed to bring about the death of our own will as we embrace and submit to the will of God our Father so that we can experience a newness of life that can be touched, seen, and heard. That is the essence of the grace poured on us (Ephesians 4:7-13).
- Recognising and embracing God’s grace gifts is vitally essential for equipping the saints and the growth and maturity of the body of Christ. If we do not recognise and embrace these gifts, we will be short -changing ourselves (Ephesians 4:7-13).
- It takes humility to recognise and embrace the grace and giftings of God in the lives of other people, especially those we think we are better than. That was how many people despised the grace Jesus carried and the apostles after Him and consequently missed out on what God wanted to do in their lives (Mark 6:1-6, 10-11, Matthew 23:34, Acts 18:5-6, 2 Timothy 1:15-17).
- When we are set in our ways and wilfully reject God’s message and His messengers, we only set ourselves up for doom. The fact that God’s judgement lingers does not mean it will not eventually come. We must understand that it is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance (Matthew 13:11-17, 2 Peter 3:9, Romans 2:4).
