KINGDOM DYNAMICS — THE PARABLE OF THE LEAVEN
- The leaven of the Pharisees is hypocrisy (Matthew 16:5–12, Luke 12:1–3)—pretending to be who you are not. It is outward religiosity with inward emptiness, without character or transformation (Matthew 23:1–23, TPT).
- When you have a relationship with Christ, you will not need to be begged to pray. You will spend hours in His presence because of love, worship, and the joy of fellowship with Him. Your actions must be motivated by the right motive and inspired by the Spirit of God.
- We have modern-day Pharisees in the church today. They are faithful in their tithes but dishonest at work. They owe people and treat others badly. They worship passionately on Sunday but gossip and cut corners from
Monday to Saturday (Matthew 23:1–23, TPT). - Modern-day Pharisees profess to know God but deny Him by their works (Titus 1:16). Their voices are sometimes the loudest in church, but they are cold and critical. In their homes, there is no love. They have outward displays of religiosity and Christianity.
- In the homes of modern-day Pharisees, their wives and children cannot stay around them because there is no patience. There is no love, no kindness, and no relationship. It is all harshness.
- Modern-day Pharisees profess to love God, but they hate fellow brethren. They post Scriptures online. They post prayer titles. They post prayers online but live in bitterness. They live in pride and compromise offline.
