KEEPING FAITH ALIVE IN EVERY SEASON OF LIFE
- The greatest weapons of warfare of the devil are lies and fear. The composition of Satan is lies; nothing true can come out of him (John 8:44, 2 Timothy 1:7).
- When dreams originate from God, they are to give revelation, counsel and direction in a situation, sound a note of warning and give a word of caution to avoid an impending danger, and to encourage us (Genesis 20:2-8).
- When the enemy hijacks God’s means of communication, particularly dreams, he distorts the intention of God. Instead of the dreams to bring revelation, counsel, warning, and encouragement, the enemy instils fear and confusion in the dreamer.
- As believers, we do not flee from the enemy; rather, we carry the battle to the gates of the enemy. We go on the offence and do not stay on the defence (Genesis 22:17, James 4:7, 1 Samuel 17:50-51).
- When your dream and its effect are paralysing fear, debilitating terror, and paranoia that render you paralysed and unable to take positive action, know that the devil is at work, not God.
- God can give you dreams that are “dreadful” either to show you the plans of the enemy, or an impending danger or to warn you of impending judgement. Either way, if the dream is from God, it will produce faith in you to dismantle the plans of the enemy and gain victory in prayers. If it is about God’s intended judgement, it will birth in you the spirit of intercession and repentance. By so doing, you will invoke the mercies of God to turn His heart and cause Him to relent. The end of this will be peace, which is the umpire of God’s will (Genesis 15:12-21).
- As good as dreams and visions are, they do not replace the word of God. The word of God holds sway in every situation. The word of God is not the final authority; it is the only authority (Hebrews 1:1-3).
- If you have a dream or vision that does not have precedence in the word of God, please take the word of God.
- When the enemy comes with another word that God has not spoken, you must always have the word of truth in your heart. Also, your voice must be strong, and your teeth sharp, which is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17, Romans 10:6-10).
