ENTERING INTO GOD’S REST (2)
-
Rest is a place of establishment in Christ. As we walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him, we are established in the faith (Colossians 2:6–7).
-
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved (Psalm 125:1-3). Shakings may come, but they cannot overturn what God has established.
-
A man of rest does not live by gossip or “current affairs,” but by what God has already said. You don’t need what is happening; you only need what has happened in God’s perspective. Current affairs will move like water currents, but the Word has already revealed the “future affairs” (Psalm 125:1–3).
-
The first doorway into rest is genuine salvation. “Come to Me… and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28–29).
-
There is no peace for the wicked (Isaiah 57:20–21). Because of sin, guilt and shame, Cain left the presence of God, began to live in a land of Nod (Nod means “wandering”) and became restless (Genesis 4:9-16).
