Definitions of a Dream and Who Are True Dreamers
- Every believer must know how to connect with God (Luke 11:1-4).
- From the outcome of the stories of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and the fiery furnace, as well as that of Daniel in the lions’ den, it is very clear that the faithfulness of God to those who believe and utterly depend on Him is absolutely unquestionable (Daniel 3;6:16-23).
- You cannot see the glory of God and still have doubts in your heart. The reason you are not sure of the kind of dream you have is because it is not from God. When a dream is from God, you will wake with God’s presence (Genesis 12:1-8; 28:16).
- Here are three definitions of a dream from the Noah Webster’s Dictionary. First: “A dream is a series of thoughts which occupy the mind of a sleeping person in which he imagines he has a
view of real things and transactions” (Genesis 40:5, 8; 41:15, Daniel 2:1-3). - Second: “A dream is a series of thoughts not under the command of reason and hence it is sometimes wild and irregular.”
- Third: “Inscriptures, dreams were sometimes impressions on the minds of sleeping persons made by divine agency” (Genesis 20:1-7, Matthew 2:18-15).
- “It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.” — Robert H. Goddard
- Some of the scientific inventions first entered the realm of mankind through dreams.
- If you are in a situation where you are trying to seek direction or a solution and there is no dream or prophetic word, God may have said “goodbye” (1 Samuel 28:7-19).
- When you start to justify the things you once condemned, you are on the road to catastrophe (1 Samuel 28:7-19, 1 Chronicles 10: 1-14).
- “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams and endeavours to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.” – Henry David Thoreau. (Genesis 41:1, 14-16, 25-57).
- If you do not forget the past, you will not be fruitful in the present. You must forget and forgive so that God can cause you to be fruitful (Genesis 41:1, 14-16, 25-57).
- Having studied the role of Joseph in the seven years of plenty in preparation for the seven years of famine, I completely agree that all men of action are dreamers, that is, true dreamers are
men of action (Genesis 41:1, 14-16, 25-57).
