THE TRUE VINE, THE HUSBANDMAN
-
Jesus is the true vine; the Father is the husbandman. Every branch in Him that bears no fruit is lifted up, tended, and if it still refuses to produce, it is cut off. Every fruitful branch feels the pruning edge of His knife (John 15:1-2). Are you a fruitful or a fruitless branch?
-
Abide in Christ and bear much fruit. Without Him, we can do nothing. Abiding in Him guarantees lasting fruit and answered prayers (John 15:4-8, 16).
-
We have been appointed and ordained to go and bear fruit, and that our fruit should remain. The remaining fruit is proof of true discipleship.
-
You cannot freely give what you have not freely received. Ministry is both giving and receiving. The church is meant to be a living exchange, receiving nourishment and giving life.
-
When we are not receiving from Him, we cannot give to others (Matthew 10:8).
-
God’s plan is to restore His people to Zion, where He gives shepherds after His heart who will feed His people with knowledge and understanding. When such shepherds arise, the result is multiplication and increase (Jeremiah 3:14-16).
