THE MOST BLESSED SON OF JACOB

  • Your father’s faith cannot save you except you have the same faith as your father. The faith of Noah protected his own household, but some of the things they never thought could happen still happened in his household (Ezekiel 14:12-23).
  • There are biblical injunctions where God stipulated that even those whom He considered powerful intercessors would not prevent the disasters that befell either their people or their children.
What is both poignant and ironic is that these powerful intercessors were saved by their prayers, yet their people and offspring were not, because they did not cling to the fear of God as their fathers did (Jeremiah 15:1-4, 10-11, 15-21).
  • Be careful about the prophetic word. Do not despise prophecies. Do not think you have what it takes to change what God has decreed. Unfortunately, there are believers everywhere in the
world today who believe prayers can change prophecy. They do not know that once God speaks, it does not return to Him void (Isaiah 38:1-4, 2 Kings 21:1, 2 Chronicles 33:1, 2 Kings 21:1-18, 2 Chronicles 33:1-20).
  • You can be guilty by association. Therefore, be careful who you associate with because when the consequences of their abomination and their perversion come, if you are there, you will fall victim to judgement (Psalm 1:1-4).
  • What others did in the past could affect you in the present, except God opens your eyes.
  • There are spiritual remedies, especially for the remnant that will escape from all forms of disasters. To some people, the word remnant means a surviving or small part.
  • Remnant is actually a part of something that is left after the others have been used, removed, or destroyed. However, sometimes when you see the term ‘remnant’ used in the Bible, it refers to a group of people, not necessarily small, but multitudes who remain loyal to God after a time of hardship. That is the other side of remnant that many people do not know (Romans 9:27-28, Revelation 12:13-17;19:1-10, 1 Corinthians 2:1-5).
  • In order to be among the remnant that will be saved—so that we too can leave a legacy of faith and great exploits for our children and children’s children—we need to recalibrate and learn
from fathers and leaders who are faithful to the very end of their lives. This is the spiritual remedy to hearing the word and not doing it (Hebrews 13:5-8, NKJV, NLT, NIV, AMP, MSG).
  • When it comes to the word of God, are you totally obedient? Do you discard what you do not like and hold on to what you like? Your attitude to the word of God really matters because the faith of a father cannot save the son.
  • Learn to embrace the word of God, run with it, and let it guide your day-to-day living so that you may be among the remnant that will latch on to His word.
